🌮 Easy Birria Tacos (with Saucy Beard Birria Seasoning)
With Saucy Beard Birria Seasoning, there’s no complicated chile prep or spice blending. All you need is beef, water (or broth for extra depth), and one seasoning packet. The result? Juicy, cheesy birria tacos with rich dipping consomé.
🛒 Ingredients (Serves 6–8)
-
3–4 lbs beef chuck roast or brisket, cut into large chunks
-
1 packet Saucy Beard Birria Seasoning (Classic, Smoky, or Hellfire)
-
4 cups water or beef broth
-
1 onion, quartered (optional)
-
3–4 garlic cloves (optional)
-
Corn or flour tortillas
-
Shredded cheese (Oaxaca, mozzarella, or your favorite melty cheese)
-
Fresh cilantro, diced onion, lime wedges (for garnish, optional)
🍳 Instructions
1. Prep & Cook the Birria
-
Cut beef into large chunks and sear in a hot skillet or Dutch oven until browned on all sides.
-
Transfer beef to a slow cooker or large pot. Add 1 packet of Saucy Beard Birria Seasoning and 4 cups water or broth.
-
(Optional) Add onion and garlic for extra depth.
-
Cook on low for 6–8 hours, until beef is tender and shreds easily.
2. Shred & Soak
-
Remove beef, shred with forks.
-
Return shredded beef to the consomé and let it soak for 20–30 minutes to absorb maximum flavor.
3. Make the Tacos
-
Heat a skillet. Dip tortillas into the top layer of the birria consomé (the red oil).
-
Add cheese + shredded beef, fold, and crisp until golden brown.
-
Serve tacos hot with a side of warm consomé for dipping.
